NEWSLETTER - 17th OCTOBER 2025

House Assemblies have taken place this week, with each house gathering in the Sports Hall. It’s always inspiring to see over 500 students together, listening to their House Captains reflect on the half-term and build excitement for the competitions ahead.
It’s been a brilliantly busy week for Year 7, who took part in the annual singing concerts. Each tutor group bravely took to the stage to sing their hearts out in front of parents, before joining together as a choir of 130 voices. The energy, enthusiasm, and joy in the room were truly uplifting. We hope many will continue singing by joining the Junior Vocal Group and performing in school concerts and at the Christmas service. Well done to everyone for giving it your all!
On Thursday, Year 7 also took part in a half-day focused on building their oracy skills. These sessions, part of our Learning to Learn programme, are designed to help students organise their thoughts and speak confidently in public—an essential skill both for life and for their GCSE English qualification. The session also provided a valuable opportunity to reflect on their first six weeks at Charters.
Today, we held a Kick It Out mufti day to support the charity’s vital work in tackling racism. Students were invited to wear red to show their commitment to this important cause. At Charters, we stand united in the belief that racism has no place in our school or our wider community. If any student experiences or witnesses racism, it must be reported immediately so we can act swiftly. Thank you to everyone who supported this important message and charity.

Below is a summary of the results from the past week – well done to everyone!

A Huge congratulations to Year 11 student Freddie, who triumphed at the Wentworth Tennis Club Championships last weekend! After battling through several rounds, Freddie who played some great tennis throughout, put in a winning performance in the final to claim the Under-16s Club Champion title.
Freddie, pictured above with his coach, has been on a tennis scholarship at Wentworth since the age of seven, and his hard work and dedication truly shone through. Well done, Freddie — what a fantastic achievement!

COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS EVENING
Wednesday 12th November, 5.00–6.30pm

We are excited to invite all parents, carers and members of our local community to our Community Connections Evening being held in our Main Hall on Wednesday 12th November from 5.00pm - 6.30pm.
This event is a fantastic networking opportunity for families, local organisations and the school to come together, celebrate how we already support one another, and explore new ways to collaborate. Departments across the school will be sharing how the community can get involved — from providing materials for projects and sponsoring creative events, to offering work experience placements and career insights.
It’s also a chance to discover how our students can give back — through volunteering, Duke of Edinburgh service, and community partnerships. We hope you’ll join us to make connections, share ideas, and strengthen the links that make Charters such a vibrant part of our community.
There's power in unity.
MR FLETCHER'S ANNUAL HOUSE CHRISTMAS PICTURE COMPETITION
I would like to invite students to get creative and design a Christmas Card and a Postcard for me to use.
There are two categories for your pictures, one to designed (painted - created) for Christmas showing the spirit of goodwill at Christmas and one to be used as a postcard ‘all year round’ with the message of Charters & Unity Respect Excellence! Last year the winning Christmas Card was designed by Avinash and the postcard was designed by Oriana.

This competition is open for all students, all key stages. Details about the competition will be available on TEAMS next week. The deadline for entries to be submitted by Teams Assignment is Tuesday 11 November at 9 am (please attach a photo and keep the original which we will ask to see if your picture is chosen).

HOPE FOOD SHARE

The Hope Church food share takes place each Tuesday from 12pm-1pm.
The items include mainly fresh food and bakery items donated from local supermarkets. The food is at the end of its shelf life (but still perfectly fine to eat!) and would otherwise just go to waste. Bring a bag to fill up, stop for a chat and a cup of tea (and cake!!) and warm up in the church. ALL welcome, no voucher/referral required.
Hope Church, Sunningdale, The Hope Centre, High Street Sunningdale, (next to Nag’s Head).
