PSHEC students at Charters School will develop their knowledge, understanding and develop critical thinking skills around three areas of PSHEC programme of study: Health and Wellbeing, Relationships, and Living in the Wider World. Students will obtain well round information and encourage empathy regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation and socio-economic position and in turn this will enhance the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
- Question the so called ‘Norms’ in society. Develop student confidence in being able to challenge when they think something is wrong i.e. Trump and Climate change
- Problem solving – ‘Brexit’ what are potential solutions via discussion and debates – this will develop persuasive language skills.
- Understand the diverse country/world they live in. Empathise with Multi-faith, ethnic, race, sex and sexualities and appreciate difference e.g. Differences between racism and discrimination.
- Critical thinking is key, question and assess what could be done differently i.e. Politics, Crime and Punishment.
