Students who took part in last year’s Ascot Racecourse Community Challenge were delighted to welcome a special visitor this week - Sophie, the Fundraising Officer from their chosen charity, Daisy’s Dream.

Gathered together over juice and cookies, Sophie spoke with the students about the incredible events they organised, including a film night, teacher karaoke, and a pumpkin carving workshop — all designed to raise funds for the local charity in fun and engaging ways.

Sophie shared the inspiring story behind her work, explaining how Daisy’s Dream helps young people cope with bereavement. She also spoke about her own personal connection to the charity, recalling how the organisation supported the children of a close friend who passed away.

To recognise the students’ dedication and compassion, Sophie proudly presented them with certificates of thanks, praising their creativity and teamwork throughout the project.

The visit was a heart warming reminder of the difference that kindness, empathy, and community spirit can make — values that sit at the very heart of Charters School life.
