NEWSLETTER -20th MARCH 2026

We would like to extend our warmest wishes to all members of our community who are celebrating Eid. We hope it brings joy, peace, and special moments with family and friends.
Our Spring Concert on Wednesday was, as always, a wonderful occasion. We are incredibly proud of the talent we have across the school. The evening featured a lovely mix of classical, rock, jazz, and choral performances, creating something for everyone to enjoy. A particular highlight was the heartfelt speech from our Year 13 students, who were performing for the final time. Their words of thanks to the staff who have supported them over the years were truly touching.
It has been so nice to see the sunshine at last—let’s hope the colder, wetter weather is now behind us! With spring underway, work in the Sowers & Growers Garden has begun again in earnest. We’ve added three new benches, giving students a peaceful space to sit, reflect, or rest between gardening sessions. We’ve also been delighted to welcome back Eric, our former groundsman, who has kindly been volunteering his time to support some of the more challenging maintenance tasks, including pruning trees and tackling the weeding. We are really looking forward to seeing how the garden flourishes this year.
This week, our Year 8 students watched a short play called Hooked, followed by a Q&A session. The performance explored the realities of vaping, highlighting the hidden dangers of certain chemicals and the impact of nicotine on the body. It was an engaging and thought-provoking experience for all involved.
Year 10 students have experienced the English ‘Big lecture’ series this week as a way of helping to prepare for their exams next week. This helps supplement their revision work at home, we all know the principles of the 5 Ps Preparation and Planning Prevents a Poor Performance. The PPEs are about helping our student prepare so they can perform well in there GCSEs next year. These are an important milestone in their GCSE journey, helping them to understand their progress and next steps. We wish them all the very best of luck.

LITERARY FESTIVAL & SUMMER FAYRE

There is still plenty of time for you to get involved with the Charters School Literary Festival & Summer Fayre which will be taking place on Saturday 4th July, 12:00pm–4:00pm!
This is set to be a fantastic community event, bringing together students, families, local businesses, and community groups – all in our beautiful school grounds. Funds raised will go directly towards supporting the school and enriching student experiences.
If you run a small business and would like to be part of our Artisan Marketplace, pitches are available for £50. This is a great opportunity to showcase your products to a wide audience.
We are always looking for volunteers to help set up before the event, run a stall during the day, or help pack away at the end. Your time and support will make the day run smoothly and ensure everyone has a great experience. Plus it is a great way to meet other parents/carers.
If you have a business and could donate a sizeable item for our Summer Draw or Silent Auction, it would be hugely appreciated. It is these special prizes that really help ramp up the amount of funds raised. Past bespoke items have included McLaren F1 Cap Signed by Oscar Piastri and a 4 Ball at Royal Ascot Golf Club which were generously donated by our fantastic parents.
While we’ll ask for tombola items closer to the event, at this stage, any prize donations, sponsorship, or creative ideas to make the day extra special would be fantastic.
If you can help in any of these ways, or know someone who might, please email us at [email protected] with your details.
We’re confident that this will be an enjoyable, lively day for the whole community, and we hope as many of you as possible will get involved to help make it a success!
Thank you in advance for your support.

HOPE FOOD SHARE

The Hope Church food share takes place each Tuesday from 12pm-1pm.
The items include mainly fresh food and bakery items donated from local supermarkets. The food is at the end of its shelf life (but still perfectly fine to eat!) and would otherwise just go to waste. Bring a bag to fill up, stop for a chat and a cup of tea (and cake!!) and warm up in the church. ALL welcome, no voucher/referral required.
Hope Church, Sunningdale, The Hope Centre, High Street Sunningdale, (next to Nag’s Head).
