Students are being encouraged to get involved in a range of local youth groups run by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM), offering exciting opportunities to share their views and help shape positive change in the community.

Following a recent discussion with RBWM’s Young People’s Engagement Officer, Molly Bowyer, it is clear that these initiatives build on the strong foundations already in place through the school council, giving students further platforms to express their ideas and influence decision-making beyond school.

This week Molly visited Charters and worked with the School Council to give students a taste of how these groups operate through an interactive session focused on discussion and decision-making.

Three groups are currently open to students: the RBWM Youth Council, the RBWM Girls Forum, and the RBWM Inclusion Ambassadors. Each group focuses on different areas, from representing young people’s views and promoting gender equality, to improving inclusion and supporting those with additional needs.

Students who take part will have the chance to collaborate with others, contribute to meaningful projects, and develop key skills such as teamwork, communication and leadership.

We look forward to seeing our students' voices reaching far beyond our school community and helping to shape initiatives across the borough.
