NEWSLETTER - 3rd OCTOBER 2025

The highlight of this week was the Celebration of Achievement evening where students from Year 8 to Year 13 were celebrated for their outstanding work in departments, alongside their contribution to the school life. The awards were presented by Lucy Spencer, a former Charters student, a successful entrepreneur who built up a business and sold it to a larger company. Her message of resilience, compassion, confidence and curiosity resonated with all in hall who were listening to her.
Assemblies this week highlighted and celebrated the European Day of Languages, which was on the 26th September this year. Thank you to Mrs Battipaglia, who led the assemblies this week, highlighting the importance of being curious about language and cultures.
Year 10 and 13 Art Students spent a day at the V& A museum in South Kensington gaining inspiration from the wonderful design pieces on display.
Next Friday is Hello Yellow Day, a national day for highlighting young people's mental health issues. Should you wish to donate to this worthwhile charity, a link will be provided for you to do so next week. We asked that all students wear something with their school uniform, for example, yellow socks. I, for one, will be wearing a yellow tie. The Sixth Form leadership team are running a series of events to raise awareness.
We will shortly be sending home letters to all students to highlight their attendance in the first 4 weeks of school. Attendance in school is incredibly important to enable students to be successful and develop friendships and understanding. If there are any barriers to your child attending school on a regular basis, we must be made aware.

BE PREPARED
EVERY DAY STUDENTS WILL NEED TO BRING...
HOPE FOOD SHARE

The Hope Church food share takes place each Tuesday from 12pm-1pm.
The items include mainly fresh food and bakery items donated from local supermarkets. The food is at the end of its shelf life (but still perfectly fine to eat!) and would otherwise just go to waste. Bring a bag to fill up, stop for a chat and a cup of tea (and cake!!) and warm up in the church. ALL welcome, no voucher/referral required.
Hope Church, Sunningdale, The Hope Centre, High Street Sunningdale, (next to Nag’s Head).
