Futures Festival

Last week, 13 of our Year 11 girls enjoyed an afternoon of workshops, talks and networking at The Marist School. The Futures Festival, was to inspire ambition in academic young women, develop leadership skills and explore diverse and academic pathways.
The afternoon began with an inspiring speech on ‘aiming high and breaking barriers’ from the keynote speaker, Dr Martin Stephen. Followed by interesting workshops on Oxbridge, Medicine, Law, Veterinary, Gap Years, Overseas Universities, STEM, Apprenticeships, Women in Leadership and Super-curricular engagement.
‘Waddleton’ our school mascot, joined in the festival of discovery for the intellectually curious!
Our thanks to The Marist School for hosting the event, and to Mrs Hicks our Careers Lead for arranging the trip and accompanying our students.
