SCHOOL CLOSED Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th June
School Closure — Red Weather Warning for Extreme Heat
Charters School and Sixth Form will be closed on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th June due to a Red Weather Warning for extreme heat issued by the Met Office.
The safety and wellbeing of our students and staff is our absolute priority. A Red Warning is the most serious level of weather alert, and given our school buildings and environment, we have made the decision that it would not be safe or appropriate to have students on site during this period.
What this means for your child:
- School will be closed to all students on Wednesday and Thursday
- Work will be set via ARBOR for students to complete at home where possible. This is so students can complete work in the coolest parts of the day, also many staff will be looking after their own child at home as school shut.
- Yr 10 Parents' Evening will be online on Thursday 25th.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will update you as soon as possible should anything change. Please keep an eye on your emails and this school website but we are intending for the school to be open on Friday.
In the meantime, please ensure your child stays hydrated, keeps out of direct sunlight during the hottest parts of the day, and follows any guidance issued by the NHS and Met Office.
We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Friday.
