NEWSLETTER - 5 JANUARY 2024

HIGHLIGHTS

Welcome Back!

Happy New Year to everyone! Welcome back to all our students. Let's hope that 2024 will be a highly successful year for all of us and enable us to achieve our personal goals.

We held our annual Presentation Evening this week, and it was wonderful to see so many of our former students return to collect their awards. Over 350 people crowded into the School Hall to celebrate the students receiving subject prizes, which included a citation and a book to help them research further into the subject. More importantly, it was lovely to catch up with individuals and hear how their first term at university had gone, and how some were finding their work.

Our guest speakers, both former students, Peter, who completed a degree at York University, and Aaron, who is studying for a degree apprenticeship with the BBC, spoke to the audience about their experiences on these different courses. Hearing from former students is always very powerful and allows present students to see what is possible for them. We wish Peter and Aaron all the very best for the future. More details about the evening are below.

NOTICES

GUEST SPEAKERS REQUIRED

We are looking for guest speakers to share their career journey with our students.

We want to show that there isn’t just one RIGHT career - it just has to be the right career for you.

If you could volunteer to share your route from school to when you are now during National Apprenticeships Week, (5-9 February) or National Careers Week, (4-9 March), you’ll enable our students to gain valuable insights into the World of Work and the skills that are relevant and valued in the workplace.

Please get in touch careers@chartersschool.org.uk to register your interest.

Thank you

REMINDER: DELIVERIES FOR STUDENTS ARE NOT ACCEPTED

We are a large campus and we do not have the capacity to run around delivering items students have forgotten/left at home/in the car etc.  It is a student’s responsibility to bring the correct equipment for the day in with them in the morning. Please do not be offended when we decline to accept items arriving at Reception.

We make an exception for essential medication and for packed lunches, although top ups on ParentPay become available for students to use at the tills in the Dining Hall within minutes of being placed. So this is often the better option.

VACANCY

We have a new vacancy for a Teaching Assistant, for further details and to apply please CLICK HERE for the vacancies section of our website.
