Three Charters Sixth Form students have proudly represented the school on a national stage after presenting their environmental ideas at the prestigious Pitch for the Planet event at the Royal Institution in London.

The journey began when Daniel, Ridhi and Madhura took part in the national ICE CityZen competition, where they impressed the judges with their innovative environmental proposal and exceptional presentation skills. Their outstanding performance earned them the Loud Speaker Award, recognising their confidence, communication and ability to inspire an audience.

As a result of their success, the students were invited to a winners' lunch at the headquarters of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), where they had the opportunity to meet the organisation's President and discuss their ideas with industry leaders.

Their achievements also led to an invitation to present at Pitch for the Planet at the prestigious Royal Institute in London. The event brought together students from primary school through to postgraduate level, alongside academics and industry representatives from across the UK and beyond, all united by a shared ambition to tackle environmental challenges through innovation.

Ridhi

Representing Charters Sixth Form, Daniel, Ridhi and Madhura delivered their pitch with confidence and professionalism. Their presentation was warmly received, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience, and they embraced every opportunity to network with fellow students, academics and professionals throughout the day. They were exceptional ambassadors for Charters, demonstrating the school's values of Unity, Respect and Excellence at every stage.

Their success has also created a lasting opportunity for other students at Charters. Winning the Loud Speaker Award means the school has secured a free workshop from the nationally renowned Loud Speaker organisation, which specialises in developing confidence, public speaking, leadership and personal storytelling skills. The workshop, arranged by Mr Metson, will be delivered as a Year 12 assembly, allowing even more students to benefit from expert coaching.
