Inspiring Learning Beyond the Classroom
Mid-July can only mean one thing at Charters – Curriculum Enrichment Day! This much-anticipated annual event saw students in Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 step away from their usual timetables and immerse themselves in a variety of exciting, hands-on activities designed to bring learning to life.
Year 7 students embraced the challenge of Mission Maths, tackling a series of dynamic, logic-based puzzles that put their problem-solving skills, teamwork and perseverance to the test. The engaging activities proved that mathematics can be both stimulating and great fun.
For Year 8, the focus shifted to Science with an unforgettable forensic investigation. Students became detectives for the day as they worked together to uncover who stole the school mascot, Waddleton. Collecting evidence, analysing clues and piecing together the mystery, it was the perfect experience for any aspiring CSI enthusiast.

Year 9 stepped into the fast-paced world of journalism with Charters' ever-popular Handling the News programme. Taking on roles including editors, news and sports journalists, researchers, page designers, photo editors, web designers and TV broadcasters, students collaborated to produce their own newspapers and news programmes. Their finished creations were later judged, showcasing an impressive range of creativity, communication and teamwork.
Meanwhile, Year 10 students enjoyed a more reflective experience through a series of enriching Religious Studies workshops. These thought-provoking sessions encouraged students to explore important ethical, philosophical and spiritual questions, providing valuable opportunities for discussion, reflection and personal growth.

Curriculum Enrichment Day once again proved to be a fantastic opportunity for students to broaden their horizons, develop new skills and experience learning in fresh and exciting ways. The enthusiasm, creativity and dedication shown by every year group made for another memorable and successful day at Charters.
