On Tuesday, a group of high-achieving Year 9 students had the exciting opportunity to attend a STEM Day at Wellington College in Crowthorne.

The event brought together like-minded students from across the region for a day of hands-on learning in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Throughout the day, students participated in a series of engaging workshops led by expert teachers from Wellington College, alongside external specialists. These sessions were designed to challenge students’ thinking, develop problem-solving skills, and inspire curiosity about future careers in STEM fields.

Activities focused on practical application, encouraging students to explore real-world scenarios through experimentation, teamwork and innovation. From scientific investigations to technology-based challenges, the day provided a stimulating environment where students could extend their knowledge beyond the classroom.

Students were selected to attend this prestigious event in recognition of their high achievement in lessons, as well as their consistent commitment to Charters School’s values. Their participation reflects both their academic dedication and their positive attitude towards learning.

The experience proved to be both enjoyable and inspiring, with many students leaving the day feeling motivated to pursue further opportunities in STEM. Charters School is proud of their efforts and looks forward to seeing how they continue to develop their skills and aspirations in the future.

Mr Ginn, who accompanied the group said "The students were amazing and represented the school impeccably. A teacher from another school commented how impressed she was with our students' aptitude as they expertly navigated the challenges."

Well done to all students involved for representing the school so positively.
