House Decorate a Door Competition
Over the past two weeks, something rather special has been unfolding along the corridors of our school. What were once ordinary classroom doors have been transformed into vibrant, imaginative displays as part of the much-anticipated House “Decorate a Door” competition—and the results have been nothing short of spectacular.
With an Easter theme at its heart, each tutor group embraced the challenge with enthusiasm, creativity, and a wonderful sense of fun. Doors blossomed into colourful showcases of springtime joy, filled with cheerful bunnies, bright decorations, and thoughtful details that reflected the personality and spirit of each group.
The level of ingenuity on display has been remarkable. From cleverly crafted bunnies holding baskets filled with milk chocolate eggs for the judges—though we definitely don’t consider that bribery!—to a particularly heartwarming creation featuring paper bunnies adorned with photographs of Miss King’s Year 9 tutor group as toddlers, every door told its own unique story. It was clear that no idea was too bold, no detail too small.
More than just a competition, this initiative has brought our school community closer together. Tutor groups collaborated, laughed, and problem-solved as one, united by a shared goal. Students and staff alike rolled up their sleeves, contributing ideas and effort in equal measure, creating a genuine sense of togetherness and pride in what could be achieved collectively.
The competition itself was the brainchild of Miss Stockwell, our House Coordinator, whose vision and enthusiasm made it all possible. She spent a thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours visiting each tutor group, carefully judging the entries and taking in the incredible variety of designs on display—a task that proved to be far from easy given the exceptionally high standard.
After much deliberation, the results are now in. In what was an incredibly close contest, congratulations go to our winning tutor groups:

A huge thank you goes to every member of our school community for throwing yourselves so wholeheartedly into this House competition. Your creativity, teamwork, and enthusiasm have truly embodied the spirit of our school. And, of course, our sincere thanks to Miss Stockwell for devising such a joyful initiative and for her time spent judging each and every entry.
If the past two weeks are anything to go by, our doors may return to normal—but the sense of community they’ve created will remain.
