Our Catering and Hospitality GCSE students recently enjoyed a truly inspiring and memorable educational visit to Ascot Racecourse, giving them a behind-the-scenes look at one of the UK’s most iconic hospitality venues.

The trip was designed especially for our Catering and Hospitality GCSE cohort, and it brought classroom learning vividly to life. Delivered in partnership with Ascot’s expert catering team, the day offered students an immersive insight into the preparation, precision and teamwork that goes into delivering a successful race day. From exploring professional kitchens to taking part in hands-on practical activities, students were able to see first-hand how the skills they are developing in school translate directly into a fast-paced, real-world environment.

We are incredibly proud of the strong community links we share with Ascot Racecourse, and opportunities like this highlight the value of those partnerships. By opening their doors to our students, Ascot continues to play an important role in supporting young people as they explore future pathways and ambitions.

Most importantly, the visit shone a light on the wide range of career opportunities within the hospitality and catering industry. Students left with a deeper understanding of the sector, greater confidence in their abilities, and fresh enthusiasm for where their studies could take them next.

We are delighted that our students were able to take part in such a valuable opportunity during National Apprenticeships Week, and those wishing to explore apprenticeships in this sector can do so below:

Our thanks to Ms Marshall for organising the trip and we look forward to continuing our work with Ascot Racecourse in the future; experiences like this are at the heart of our commitment to meaningful, real-world learning.
