We were delighted to welcome our new Year 7 and Year 12 cohort to Charters today and had lots of fun things up our sleeves to help them feel at home, meet new friends and feel engaged members of our school community.

The Year 12 students took part in a dynamic team-building workshop led by Bright Futures, an organisation that specialises in creating engaging experiences to strengthen relationships, build resilience, and nurture key skills for success. Students were encouraged to step outside their usual circles by working with peers from different Tutor groups and meet those new to our school. It was fantastic to hear them laughing, discussing topics and developing new relationships.

The Year 7 students were not left out of things as they took part in tutor-led activities, including a treasure hunt around the school site to orientate themselves. They later visited the eagerly anticipated Freshers Fayre to sign up to the many and diverse Extra Curricular Activities on offer this term; from sports and music to debating and creative clubs, there is something for everyone.

ECAs are at the core of Charters School's ethos, and we are keen for students to find at least one activity - either at 2nd break or after school - to try as they join our school community.

Most of our ECAs will begin next week, and this information will be communicated to students through the Student Daily Dispatch which drops into their inbox every evening.

You can take a look at this term's ECAs below. The page is updated regularly with any cancellations, and we encourage students and parents/carers to check here instead of calling the school.

While the vast majority of our ECAs are free, information regarding all paid-for ECAs will be sent to all parents/carers next week.

Making friends, learning new skills, developing their confidence and making memories, are all part of being a student at our school, and we can't wait to see what our new Year 7 and Year 12 students will achieve this year.

Welcome to Charters!
