Magical Trip for Year 7 English Students

Mrs Boorman looks forward to the end of every academic year - and it's not for the reason you may think! July is her favourite time of the school year because she organises an annual trip for Year 7 students to the wonderful world of Harry Potter, as they travel to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in Hertfordshire.
Students - and staff - had a marvellous time as they walked around the Great Hall, saw original props and even stepped foot inside Gringotts’ Bank!
Amelie and Oriana - both 7H students - have written a report of the trip:
We were very excited to go on the Harry Potter trip and it was as fun as we expected! Firstly, we had the amazing VIP experience to do a magical workshop! We got to learn about how they make all the mythical creatures and then we got to design our own, we made a bat like creature that can see through walls! At the workshop, we also saw Hagrids' face prosthetic which looked very realistic.
Then, we started the tour into the world of Warner Bros filming! We started by watching short movies about all the work of Harry Potter and then saw the great hall. The great hall was awesome full of impressive models, props and costumes! After, we saw a load of settings that were fantastic! We also had a cool experience were we got ride on broomsticks with a green screen, it was very clever and made it look like we were catching a snitch on a broomstick in mid-air.
Then we saw the Hogwarts Express and got to go inside! During lunch, lots of students tried butterbeer, we found it very enjoyable. After lunch, we saw the night bus, Privet Drive house and the greenhouse where the mandrakes live! Then we visited Gringotts Bank with very realist goblins alongside a hologram of a dragon destroying the bank.
After that we walked into a room which had all the prosthetics and robots. We then saw a 3-D Hogwarts castle made from tiny bricks it was very detailed and realistic. Next we went to the gift shop where we were all very excited to buy stuff.
We really enjoyed our visit and thoroughly recommend it to anyone who likes Harry Potter! Thank you for all the teachers!!
It certainly sounds like they had a magical time. Our thanks to the staff and students who represented our school so beautifully as they marked the end to the 2025-25 academic year.
