Arianna Plays for Basketball England U14s

On the back of an exceptional performance at the Selection Camp, Arianna in Year 9 was chosen to play for the U14 England National Basketball team.
In June Arianna played in the England Talent Programme (ETP) Tournament in Greece and then in the Home Nations Tournament in Scotland. She shares with us her experience of representing England on the International Stage...
I had a really good experience representing Basketball England for the U14 girls, Basketball England arranged a tournament for us in Greece against the U17 women. This was in preparation for our Home Nations tournament in Scotland - we played against Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
I learned a lot on and off the court, things like teamwork, discipline and staying focused under pressure and became more confidence playing on the court. In Greece we won 2 out of 3 of our matches and in Scotland we won our Home Nations tournament and brought home a Gold medal for the U14 girls and boys.
Basketball Scotland hosted the Home Nations tournament from 13-15 June at their Playsport Arena. England initially beat Ireland in the first game 57-25 and then went on to remain undefeated with further victories over Scotland (80-14) and Wales (73-13). In the semi-finals, England had victory over Wales 72-8 and then finally won the tournament with a 69-29 victory over Ireland.
Congratulations to Arianna on her incredibly successful tournament and we look forward to finding out about her basketball career as it progresses.
