Japan Club Explores the Art of Manga with Special Drawing Session

On Monday, members of the Japan Club were treated to a special Manga drawing session led by Shushana (10A), whose passion for Anime and Japanese art styles brought excitement and inspiration to the group.
Held weekly in T13 from 3.15 to 4.15pm, the Japan Club is open to students from all year groups and continues to grow in popularity amongst those interested in Japanese culture, language, and media. This week’s session gave students the opportunity to explore the visual world of Manga, a unique and globally celebrated form of Japanese comic art.
Shushana enthusiastically introduced a wide range of Anime-inspired Manga styles, sharing sketches and insights into her favourite characters and animations. Her presentation sparked lively discussions with club members, who exchanged their own favourites and explored different artistic techniques together.
For many students, this session was a chance to try something completely new and deepen their understanding of Japanese animation. The hands-on element allowed everyone to get involved, whether they were experienced artists or just curious beginners.
The Japan Club continues to offer a welcoming space for cultural discovery, creativity, and community. Whether you’re a long-time Anime fan or simply curious to learn more about Japan, there’s something for everyone each Monday afternoon.
