We are incredibly proud to share that last week Year 10 student Theresa travelled to the iconic City Ground, home of Nottingham Forest FC, to collect her award for a powerful and moving poem she submitted to the Show Racism the Red Card competition.

Selected as one of the standout winners from over 25,000 entries nationwide, Theresa's work captured the hearts and minds of the judges, earning her a well-deserved spot amongst the winners. As part of her prize, she received a beautifully mounted copy of her poem, a goodie bag packed with exciting treats - including a football and football shirts from both England and Liverpool - and, perhaps most memorably, the opportunity to perform her poem live during the awards ceremony.

Theresa’s performance was warmly received by the audience, who responded with admiration and appreciation for her message and delivery.

The event also gave Theresa the chance to meet some football legends, including Viv Anderson MBE, former Nottingham Forest and England star, and Wes Morgan, who played for Forest from 2002 to 2012 and captained Leicester City from 2012 to 2021. She also met Naomi Bedeau, a current player for the Nottingham Forest Women’s team.
