Year 11 students attended a ‘BIG Lecture’ delivered by Miss Roberts and Mrs Boorman in the Main Hall this week. They had the opportunity to focus on targeted revision strategies and take part in tasks and activities designed to build up their confidence in the subject and their overall approach to revision. Students worked really well and left the 90-minute session with a ‘Before the Exam Pack’ to help support their study in and revision of the subject. Students that participated were given a raffle ticket and will be awarded prizes next week. A huge well done to all Year 11 students - they showed real focus and determination in the sessions and their teachers are very proud of how they conducted themselves.

Head of English, Mrs Boorman, said "It was a privilege to spend some extended time with Year 11students this week, focussing really specifically on their English revision skills. They all worked really hard and walked away from the session fully equipped to be able to revise for their upcoming GCSE English exams with confidence. We focused on how to move their revision past the 'foundations' by detailing what effective revision actually is: active rather than passive, difficult and challenging and finally, reflective. A big 'thank you' to Miss Roberts and the English team for their hard work in providing the resources for this wonderful opportunity for our students."
