Model UN at The Holt School
Some of our Geography and History A-Level students had the opportunity to take part in a Model UN held at The Holt School. Our six students were split into three teams and joined either the General Assembly, Security Council or the Economic and Social Council.

Each were given a country to represent and a topic, linked to the committee they were attending. The topics included, AI in North Korea, climate-induced displacement of people and safeguarding education in Sudan. Each team of students had to create a resolution and get support from other country's delegates ahead of having a debate about their resolution and before finally facing a vote to decide whether to accept it or not.
All six students were incredibly impressive throughout the event, India and Thomas (Germany - ECOSOC) received an award for best delegates on their committee. Whereas Max and Will (Egypt - General Assembly), Ella and Ridhi (South Korea - Security Council) received awards for their contribution and effort towards creating their resolutions and contribution to debate.
Overall, the Model UN proved to be an enriching and inspiring experience for all involved. Our students demonstrated remarkable confidence, collaboration and critical thinking as they navigated complex global issues and engaged with peers from other schools. Their awards are a testament not only to their hard work on the day, but also to their commitment to understanding the challenges faced by the international community. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing them build on these skills in future opportunities.
