Geography Trip to Southampton
This week, our Year 10 GCSE Geography students immersed themselves in human geography through fieldwork in Southampton. The students - and school mascot Waddleton - visited different wards of the city to investigate how the quality of life varies across Southampton.

They undertook a wide range of primary data collection methods, including environmental quality surveys, crime prevention mapping, and questionnaires. Some students even used GIS -Survey123, to capture their data. This fieldwork forms an important part of their studies, as they will be examined on it in Paper 2 of their GCSE Geography.
Ashleigh and Maisie shared their experience of the trip:
"On the GCSE Geography trip to Southampton we were investigating how the quality of life varies. We started off by visiting Bevois and went to a residential area to complete our surveys independently. After finishing there, we went to West Quay Shopping Centre for lunch. Once everyone had eaten, we headed to Bassett to carry out another round of surveys independently before returning to school. We would like to thank Mrs Creasey, Miss Stockwell, Miss Totozintle, and Miss Barrett for taking us on this fantastic trip."
It sounds like these students thoroughly enjoyed their day.
Well done to all the students for representing the school so well!
