Supporting Hello Yellow

Charters School was awash with sunshine this week as students and staff embraced #HelloYellow, the annual campaign run each October by the children’s mental health charity YoungMinds. The day encourages everyone to come together and show support for young people’s mental health — and our community certainly rose to the occasion!
Students in Years 7–11 added a splash of yellow to their uniforms, while staff and Sixth Formers went all out, donning bright accessories and outfits to mark World Mental Health Day.
During morning registration, tutor groups took time to reflect on the importance of kindness, empathy, and support. Each student wrote a heartfelt message of encouragement on a sunshine ray — colourful paper pieces that will soon be transformed into a beautiful art installation in the Main Hall, symbolising hope and connection.
This year’s campaign theme, “Wear it loud, wear it proud,” was truly brought to life across Charters. By wearing yellow, our students and staff sent a powerful message: no one is alone when it comes to mental health.
