This week, Charters School proudly welcomed nearly 300 students to our Outstanding Sixth Form for a dynamic and thought-provoking induction experience. The students who plan to continue their academic journeys with us in September, spent time immersing themselves in the unique culture and expectations of life as a Charters Sixth Former.

While final places are dependent on achieving the required GCSE grades, this was a chance for students to explore the subjects they hope to study, meet future classmates, and begin building relationships with our passionate, subject-specialist staff.

Throughout the two-day programme, students took part in a wide variety of sessions designed to prepare them for the exciting journey ahead. From an introduction to mindset and silent study in the Durning Room, to collaborative learning in the Common Room, the emphasis was on developing the independence, curiosity, and resilience that will serve them well over the next two years - and beyond.

Charters Sixth Form is not just a stepping stone to prestigious destinations such as Russell Group universities and Oxbridge; it is a vibrant, supportive environment where young people grow both academically and personally. Opportunities to lead and give back to the community are at the heart of our ethos, whether through volunteering, acting as House Captains, or joining our NextGen leadership programme.

As one member of staff put it, “Our aim is to equip every student with the tools they need to write their own future - and to do it with confidence, curiosity, and compassion.”

We look forward to welcoming back this enthusiastic new cohort in September and can’t wait to see all that they will achieve.
