20th Jun 2025

This week, our Year 7 students swapped the classroom for the coast as they headed to Swanage for an unforgettable residential experience. Packed with challenge, teamwork, and discovery, the week brought our curriculum and character pillars to life in inspiring ways.

From the moment they arrived, students were immersed in a series of adventurous activities – from climbing and kayaking to team challenges and beach games – each one designed to develop resilience, collaboration, and independence. Our young adventurers quickly found that "not all classrooms have four walls"!

Linked closely to the curriculum, the trip nurtured personal development and real-world learning. Activities encouraged problem-solving, leadership, and communication – all core skills that support success back in the classroom.

Our Year 7s truly embodied the school's Character Pillars throughout the week. They tackled challenges with motivation, acted with integrity, and stayed curious about the world around them. Stepping out of their comfort zones, they grew in confidence, showed compassion for each other, and used reasoning to solve problems as a team. Their resilience shone through every tough moment, and through shared living and learning, they showed true civility and respect.

Evenings were filled with laughter and connection during shared meals and group activities, helping form friendships and memories that will last well beyond Year 7.

Thank you to the dedicated staff who made this trip possible – and well done to every student who embraced the adventure!
