Three Peaks Challenge
This summer, ten of our intrepid staff will be taking on the iconic Three Peaks Challenge and are aiming to raise £10,000 for our Unity Fund
Leaving Charters on Friday 28 June, they will attempt to climb the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales in under 24 hours. The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is a huge 3064 metres (10,052ft).
The three mountains that form the challenge are the tallest mountains in their respective countries:
- Scafell Pike is the tallest in England - (978m)
- Ben Nevis is the tallest in Scotland - (1345m)
- Snowdon is the tallest in Wales - (1085m)
Staff and students will be helping to raise funds alongside those taking part in the challenge, and there will be some great events for our Charters community to get involved with. We have a few surprises up our sleeves, but what we can share with you is the fact that our Summer Fair will be taking place on Saturday 29 June, so that we can all celebrate the completion of the challenge together.
We will also be making a guest appearance at the Summer Mile Family Raceday at Ascot on 13 July. Staff and students will be seeing if they can complete 37km on treadmills during the event and collecting donations from racegoers!
After half term we will be unveiling those taking part in the challenge each week, so look out for the clues we post on our social media channels. We'll bring you updates on our staff's progress as they start their training and look forward to sharing their highs and lows over the coming months.
