Barny Runs For Charity
On Sunday, Year 9 student Barny ran 5km around Thorpe Park to help raise funds for a special room at the Sam Beare Hospice in memory of his aunt.
Paulet's Room is named after Barny's Aunty Paulet, who passed way when he was just 3 months old and he hoped that by running around the rides and roller-coasters before the park opened he could raise £50. We're pleased to say that Barny's GoFundMe page currently stands at over £400!
Barny said, "I wanted to run for a cause that is close to my heart and Thorpe Park is one of my favourite places. I’ve always loved distance running so this has been a great opportunity for me to support the hospice and see behind the scenes of a great theme park."
Many congratulation to Barny who has not only demonstrated the school values of Unity, Respect and Excellence, but also the Character Pillars of Motivation, Integrity, Confidence, Compassion and Resilience.
Donations can still be made to help Barny's fundraising below
