School Transport

Many students travel on coaches organised by the Local Authority Borough Councils.

Applications for school transport are made to the Local Authority to whom you pay your Council Tax.

In addition to the Local Authority transport, there is a private bus service running from Old Windsor and Windsor to Charters School.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

LATE BUS

Over half of all Charters students stay on at school to participate in Extra-Curricular activities.  To help support this a late bus service is operated by The White Bus service which travels through South Ascot, along Ascot High Street, London Road, Fernbank Road and other areas by request (excluding Cheapside).

The special fare for this late bus service is £2.

The daily departure time Monday to Thursday is 4.30pm.  There is no late bus on Friday.

CAN I BUY A BUS PASS EVEN IF I DON'T QUALIFY FOR FREE TRANSPORT?

You can use the bus services even if you do not qualify for free transport.  To purchase your pass please contact White Bus Services or 01344 882612

MULTI-JOURNEY TICKETS

Multi journey tickets are only sold to Sixth Form students. All other students should have a season or term pass.

Multi journey tickets can be purchased by calling the White Bus Services on 01344 882612. Tickets can either be collected from the White Bus office or picked up at Charters School reception the following day. The drivers no longer sell Multi Journey tickets on-board.  The exception is the L8 late bus service which sells single journey tickets for a flat fare of £2 and the 500 which is a normal bus service that goes to Charters School.

LOST BUS PASSES

If you have lost your bus pass and after looking thoroughly still cannot find it, please phone the respective bus company to see if the driver has found it on the bus. If a replacement is required, you will  need to phone the bus company you use and request a new pass.  An administration fee will be charged.  It will take about a week for the replacement to be issued.

No student should attempt to board any bus without a valid pass to show the driver
