Community Connections Brings Supporters Together
A huge thank you to all the parents, carers, and local organisations who joined us for our Community Connections event this week. The evening was filled with lively conversations, new ideas, and inspiring opportunities to strengthen our links with the local community.
We were delighted to welcome many of the charities and businesses that have supported Charters over the past year. Among them was Savills Estate Agents and Lettings, who make a generous donation to the school every time a parent, carer, Trustee, or member of staff sells or lets their property through Savills Sunningdale — contributing £1,000 for every sale and £500 for each letting.

Berks County FC, proud sponsors of our annual Sports Presentation Evening, were also in attendance, along with representatives from The Sunninghill Trust, whose continued support makes a real difference to our students. Their sponsorship enables events such as our Strategies for Success Day for Year 11, Biodiversity Day for Year 8, and even helps fund the Jamie’s Farm residential trips, which have been transformative experiences for students over the past two years.
We were also pleased to welcome The Fire Brigade Trust, who each year award £1,000 bursaries to three students excelling in sport, and Osborne Heath Estate Agents, generous sponsors of many of our football kits.
Adding to the community spirit, representatives from Food4Children, one of our House Charities that provides food parcels to local families, joined us to share their work and impact. Our students were also involved in the event in the shape of the Sixth Form Community Committee, who unveiled their plans for a new outdoor work and social space.
It was a real pleasure to see members of the newly formed Friends of Charters School group serving refreshments and chatting with guests about their exciting upcoming events — including a Wreath Making Workshop on Wednesday 3rd December and a Race Night on Friday 6th February.

Throughout the evening, guests offered their time, expertise, and resources to support our school community. We received some wonderful offers from parents and professionals willing to share their career journeys to inspire our students, and people happy to practise conversational French and Spanish with learners to boost their confidence.
We’re also incredibly grateful for the generous pledges of financial support, which included funding for a new set of netball dresses and prizes for our Christmas Draw, which included an afternoon tea voucher and West End show tickets.
Events like these remind us just how strong our Charters community is — built on kindness, collaboration, and a shared commitment to helping our students thrive.
If you’d like to get involved by donating your time, skills, or funding, please contact Rebecca Herbert, our Marketing Manager, who would be delighted to hear from you.
