Charters School is continuing to enjoy unprecedented levels of examination success at all levels but we are particularly proud of the achievement of our students following GCSE courses. In recent years, the school has been committed to expanding the range of courses available in Years 10 and 11 so that all of our students have the opportunity to achieve success.
Students will continue to study the compulsory subjects of English, Maths, Science, PE, Citizenship+, and Religious Education. Four other choices from the remaining subjects need to be made and we would advise all students where possible to maintain a good balance of their choices by choosing a Technology, Modern Foreign Language, Arts and a Humanities subject.
Booklets and Options Forms relevant to each student have been sent home and you can read more about the optional subjects by using the links on the left.
We look forward to welcoming you and your son/daughter to our Options Evening on Thursday 23 February when you will be able to gain more information on the subjects which interest your child. There will be an introductory talk on Options by the Headteachers in the main hall. In order to accommodate the large numbers anticipated this talk will be given twice, firstly for 9CHAR pupils and their parents at 5.30pm, then for 9TEMS at 6.10pm. The introductory talk will then be followed by subject presentations, which will repeat throughout the evening, located in various classrooms.
The deadline for submitting the Options Form is Monday 12 March following Parents’ Evening on Thursday 8 March.
