When we got to the National Gallery we were taken on a tour by someone who worked there. The first painting we saw a
painting was of heaven, it had monks, saints, Jesus and Mary in it. Each monk had their own story and a symbol that was attached to how they died. My favourite one was the one that died on a barbeque. Joanna Howell 7T
The second painting was the story of Diana the Greek goddess taking a bath in the river and a man disrupted her so she turned him into an animal. The picture behind that was the most expensive, it was approximately 50 million pounds! Kyra Saggers 7T
After lunch we used our sketch books and answered questions on some of the paintings in three rooms around the gallery. We drew pictures of these paintings and coloured them in. We spent the whole day in the gallery and when we got back I was shattered. But overall it was a wonderful trip! Sam Goodall 7T
