Dreams + Teams

What is 'Dreams+Teams'

The Dreams + Teams project is a joint initiative set up by the British Council in conjunction with the Youth Sport Trust.  Dreams + Teams provides a unique link between British school children and their counterparts around the world.  Between now and 2010 it is envisaged that all Specialist Sports Colleges (and their school sport partnerships) will be supported in the development of at least one international link.

The Dreams + Teams programme develops mutual understanding between countries around the use of sport in helping to develop education. It also develops leadership skills and cross-cultural awareness in 14 to 18 year olds through sport and international educational links. The Dreams + Teams school links provide a platform to explore together, through sport, issues such as fair play, equity, cultural diversity, inclusion, religion, ethics, global citizenship and communication.

Dreams + Teams is currently active in the following countries: Argentina, Botswana, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Colombia, China, Czech Republic, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Hungary, India, Israel, Jordan, Kenya, Latvia, Malawi, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Netherlands, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Vietnam, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

Charters School was very proud to be linked to a partner school by the British Council in 2005. Our partner school is Hillgrove Secondary which is located in Durban, South Africa.
