From July 14-18, thirty GCSE Spanish students spent a boiling, but busy, five days in Valencia, accompanied by Miss Humphries, Mrs Renteria and Mrs Cervera. Here are some of the students’ most memorable moments:
“I was proud that I walked the 207 steps up the Micalet Bell Tower and the 207 steps back down again even though I am petrified of heights!”
“I enjoyed learning new information about Spain and Spanish culture every day!”
“The Fallas museum was really memorable – but some of the statues were scary! It was interesting how they were made though, and some were really life-like.”
“Going to the market was a great experience as we had to use our Spanish to find out about different items – it was challenging but great practice!”
“The dolphin show was amazing and it was the best aquarium I have ever been to.”
“I liked looking at the experiments in the science museum and finding out how they worked.”
“I liked watching Transformers in Spanish – I was really pleased I understood most of what was going on!”
“Seeing the Formula 1 track was really cool!”
“I thought the modern art museum was really interesting!”
“The best things for me were learning new Spanish words, trying Spanish food and going in Spanish shops.”
“I liked travelling around the city by metro and bus – because I don’t in England!”
“Having dinner altogether and making new friends from the trip was great – being with people for five days meant that we all became a lot closer.”
“This trip was a good experience and was amazing, thank you!”
“I just wish it could have been longer!”
