The school shop is open every day during second break, from 1.30pm to 2.00pm and every Wednesday from 10.00am to 2.30pm during the summer holidays. We accept cash and cheques made payable to Charters School Shop with the pupil's name and tutor group written on the back in the case of queries. We do not have the facilities to accept credit or debit cards.
In addition to uniform, the shop stocks an excellent range of stationery and novelty items.
The shop is run by Mrs Wendy Finch and is staffed by volunteer parents. If you feel able to help, please contact Mrs Finch on 01344 624826 ext. 755
Your commitment would amount to one hour each week or fortnight and would be greatly appreciated.
Uniform
Pupils are proud of their school uniform, which is compulsory, and extremes of fashion in dress and hairstyle are not permitted. Sixth form students are not required to wear uniform but should dress in a manner appropriate to the life of a school where other pupils are wearing uniform.
Parents are free to buy uniform from any supplier, but the school shop does stock most items all year round and some items can only be bought from the shop.
Exam Packs
The shop is now stocking an exam pack comprising 2 HB pencils, 2 black ball pens, a clear 15cm ruler and a pencil eraser and sharpener, in case pupils forget their stationery. These items are approved by the school, and are for sale in a re-sealable plastic bag, the price is £1.00. The exam staff will also have stocks to sell and will not be lending stationery to pupils in future.
Second Hand Uniform
New parents may like to note that we hold a small stock of second-hand uniform and PE kit at the shop. Parents can send items in good condition to the shop for us to sell. Items usually sell for about a quarter to one third of the original price, depending on the condition and the money is paid on sale of the items. If parents wish, the clothes can be donated with the proceeds going to the school. To save an unnecessary journey you may like to ring first or e mail to see whether the items are in stock. They can then be reserved for you to collect.
Lost Property
Lost property is held at the school shop for a term, before disposal. If your child has lost anything, please encourage them to come and look for it at the shop.
Named property is automatically returned to the owner via their tutor group, so please ensure that all your child's belongings are named.
