Sporting Stars

At Charters we have many students who are successful in their chosen sport(s) outside of school.  Here are some of the highlights of our students' more recent achievements.

Ice Dance - James Batchelor

James is the current Men's Solo Ice Dance Champion in the pre-novice (under 16yrs) category and a member of the National Development Team..  He was recently honoured to be chosen to perform in both the Opening and Closing ceremonies of the European Ice Championships which came to England this year for the first time in 22 years.

Robin Cousins, a former British Olympic Champion and one of James' heroes, choreographed the routines.  James said, ' I was really happy when I got in! It was also nice to meet Robin, he's very positive and a good coach.  After weeks of practicing I couldn't wait for the real thing, performing in front of thousands of people!'

Cable Wakeboarding - Scott Rosewell

Scott is a member of the GB squad coming 1st in the British Cable Slalom nationals, 2nd in the British nationals in July 2011 and impressively representing GB in the European Championships in September 2011 where he came 9th.  If you want to see Scott in action he will be competing at the European Championships in Datchet in July 2012 and you can follow him via his website

The junior rowers have raised over £2000. Well done all those involved.  We have a range of talented rowers and their successes are:
