Congratulations to Daniel McCarthy, Abigail Teekaram, Danica Chambers and Ewan Joyce, four Year 7 pupils who
took part in the local heats of The Times National Spelling Bee.
The students came sixth out of eight schools but they faced some tough competition and were a credit to the school in the way they behaved and conducted themselves. Abigail Teekaram said, "I really enjoyed the spelling bee and I am really proud of my team for making it this far. At first we were really nervous but we became more confident as we went further." Ewan Joyce commented that "I was very proud to represent Charters and I am determined to carry on practicing my spellings"
