Spanish Work Experience

Students studying AS and A Level Spanish have the opportunity to spend a week working in Spain.  Whilst for some this can appear a slightly daunting prospect, students soon settle into their work and the feedback is generally very positive.  Here are some of the comments from this year's visit.

"The Spanish work experience was a fantastic week away; I got the chance to work in a Spanish boutique: ‘Titto Bluni’ and speak to the customers and my boss in Spanish. Segovia, the city in which we were working was beautiful and full of lots of cafes and restaurants we had the opportunity to try lots of Spanish foods too such as tapas and paella. ¡ Qué delicioso!" Claudia Peacock

"I was very nervous about the work experience trip to Segovia, worried about whether I would keep up with the conversation in my work placement, a clothes shop called 'Blue'. My co-worker was so nice, I relaxed after the first day, and enjoyed going in every day. We all switched to Spanish time, going for 3 hour lunches in the Plaza Mayor, and sightseeing round town.We also had a few very late nights! I was really glad I went and we all want to go back to Segovia soon." Harley Blewitt

"This was a fantastic week away, involving speaking lots of Spanish, and challenging myself to use language that you don’t learn in the classroom, as it is a real life setting, especially as where I worked they spoke no English at all. I enjoyed experiencing the culture of Spain, as well as the amazing nightlife and gorgeous views around the city. I enjoyed every second that I was there, and even though I learnt a lot, I also had a great time" Charlotte Wibberley
