Shoe Sculptures

Students in year 7 made a shoe out of paper which they decorated and designed themselves.  As a class they arranged their shoes together to recreate a piece of artwork based on the work of environmental artists Richard Long, 'Sea Lava circles' and Robert Smithson, 'Spiral Jetty'.

Pupil Laura Rishworth said, "My favourite part was going outside.  If I did it again I would use more vibrant colours on my shoe"

Art Teacher Miss R Warren said, "The idea behind the piece was for the students to work as a group and to allow them to create a piece of site specific work which looked at the idea of journeys and travel on foot through their environment.  Well done everyone for all your hard work."
