In January, 36 gifted and talented students from Years 7-9 took part in a Public Speaking workshop in preparation for the House Public Speaking competition. They took part in several activities including warm up games, listening to a speech from the Charters Public Speaking team and finally prepared their own speeches to give in their assemblies.
Pupils shared their positive attitudes to the day. Annie Wooldridge 7S said, 'I enjoyed the warm up and learned new ways of expressing my point of view', while Seb Syrjanen 8A found that 'It was all fun really, but especially working with in a team and reading the speech together.'
As English leaders we thought that the students were really focused and we enjoyed working with them.
