All physics students in Year 13 are invited to take part in the Physics Olympiad Competition. The Olympiad challenges students through a series of increasingly difficult problems. If students make it through to the final stages, they take part in “Physics Bootcamp” where the British team for the International Physics Olympiad (taking place in Bangkok this year) is selected. Charters students did exceptionally well this year with Harry Rout, Jessica Wersall and Luke Smith all scoring very highly and making the cut for the later stages, with Harry, in particular, narrowly missing out on being entered for the Boot camp selection paper.
Year 13 Physics students are all more than welcome to take part in the Olympiad and this looks most impressive on UCAS forms, CVs and as a thing to drop into conversation during University interviews!
