Parents Council meeting 16 May 2011 -Summary notes

18 parents met with Mrs Derrick, Mr Wragg and Mrs Bartlett

The school is considering holding an evening on the safe use of the internet and asked parents what they would want it to cover and the best timings/structure to facilitate maximum participation.

The school rewards system was discussed, comments included the need to make it very clear what a reward was for; consistency; suggestions for rewards; comments on what currently worked best.

School Jurisdiction: The school aims to work closely with students and their parents to resolve issues which occur both on and off site, but the response of parents to our level of involvement in off-site issues is mixed. It can be difficult to support children sometimes if we do not work together. The issues surrounding this were discussed with the Parents’ Council.

Volunteering in school: ideas were discussed for how a Senior School could make best use of the support and skills offered by its parents and friends.
