Learning a foreign language is an important life-skill that provides an opening to other cultures and can improve your career options and earning-power.

There are over 500 million Spanish speakers worldwide and more than 220 million people speak French on five continents.

French is the second most widely learned foreign language after English, and more than 21 million students study Spanish as a foreign language.

At Charters, students study French and Spanish at Key Stage 3 and have the option to study either or both languages at GCSE and A level.

Students build a communicative repertoire, enabling them to express their ideas and thoughts in another language.

By developing their foreign language-skills, students also improve their communication and presentation skills in English.
