The qualification is equivalent to two GCSEs. It will be divided into five units and each of these, including the full award, will be awarded at Pass, Merit, or Distinction level.
Each unit is assessed through a portfolio of evidence that is assembled by the student. A project brief for the portfolio is supplied by the school. The portfolios are internally assessed and externally moderated. There are no external exams.
In lessons, students will be required to complete a series of practical tasks that are designed to develop and extend their skills in using Information and Communication Technology.

ICT Skills for Business

In your portfolio work you will demonstrate understanding of:
·safe working practices - the risks and measures to reduce them
·features of email software that allow effective communication
·methods of searching the internet efficiently for information
·methods of integrating different types of files into a document or presentation
·the appropriate software to use for different tasks
·methods of storing, retrieving and analysing data

In your portfolio work you will demonstrate that you are able to:
·research, collect and describe a range of existing graphics/images for use in web pages
·plan the production of a range of graphics for a client, to be used on their website
·create a navigational bar or menu bar

·present work to a client for a specific purpose, using a suitable format for display
