Welcome to Charters School

I would like to offer you and your children a warm and sincere welcome to Charters School. This website is intended to give you information about the school and, combined with the opportunity of meeting us, an idea of the kind of school Charters is.

We believe in setting the highest possible standards in everything we do. Each pupil at Charters is recognised as an individual and encouraged to develop to his or her full potential. We set high standards of appearance and behaviour, seeking to provide an ordered, but happy and caring environment in which pupils can flourish.

Charters was inspected by Ofsted in 2006. The Inspectors judged Charters to be an “Outstanding School” in all respects. Of 52 separate gradings in the report, all 52 are “Grade 1 – Outstanding”. This is a spectacularly successful result. It clearly places Charters School as one of the top comprehensive schools in the country.

As a high achieving school, we were redesignated as a Specialist Sports College in 2006 and also granted status as a Specialist Science College. We seek to use our enhanced status to provide opportunities for all pupils to achieve excellence.
