GCSE results

For the second consecutive year Charters School students and staff have achieved a record breaking set of GCSE results.

Overall 90% of students achieved 5 or more A* - C grades. Particularly successful were Katie McvKinnon and Jamie Wiles who each achieved 13A* and also an A in Additional Maths with at least another 25 students achieving 5 A* grades!

Co-Headteachers, Martyn Parker and Richard Pilgrim said, “We are particularly pleased that 74% of students achieved at least five A* – Cs including English and Maths, as this is considered the key measure of success for schools at GCSE. This is an increase on last year when we broke through the 70% barrier the first time and we would like to congratulate the students on their hard work which enables us to maintain consistently high standards at GCSE.

What characterised this year group was their generosity of spirit, good humour and support of one another. They deserve to do as well as they have done.We would also like to thank the parents of our students who have worked with the school to encourage and support their children and have played a vital role in enabling the students to achieve these outstanding results.”

The vast majority of our students will be moving on to our Sixth Form to begin their “A” level courses or the wide variety of vocational courses that are available. We look forward to their continuing success.
