For over 25 years pupils from Charters School have participated in an annual exchange with pupils from CES Les Breguieres in Cagnes-sur-Mer near Nice. Each year up to 25 pupils from each school spend eight days staying with each other's families, immersing themselves in the language and culture of the other country. During the day in France, Charters pupils visit local places of interest including Cannes, Nice, Antibes, Monaco, Monte Carlo and Grasse. Comments from past exchanges include: "I really enjoyed the French Exchange. It was a fantastic learning experience!" "I just loved listening to people speaking French for real!" "On our last day we went to an ice cream parlour called 'Fenocchio' with 96 different flavours. C'etait super!" "I loved talking to my French host family in the evening, trying new dishes and sitting in the April sunshine."
