FirstClass is a system that has enabled us to create an online learning community that enhances communication (including email) and collaboration between students, teachers, administrators and other members of the school community. First introduced at Charters School in 2002, FirstClass is used in all RBWM schools and connects all contributors to the education process within a secure, online environment.
Accessing FirstClass
Every student and member of staff at Charters School has their own FirstClass account. FirstClass is accessed in school using the secure FirstClass client. The client can also be downloaded and installed at home. The latest clients are available to download below and are free of charge.
FirstClass Client Downloads
The following clients are available to download and install onto any Windows or Mac based computer/notebook. The latest version of FirstClass is version 10.
Windows FirstClass 9 Client (All versions of Windows)
Windows FirstClass 10 Client * (Windows XP, Vista, 7)
Windows FirstClass 10 Client * (Windows 2000)
Mac OS X FirstClass 10 Client
Mac OS 9 FirstClass 9 Client (No FirstClass 10 Client is currently available)
* Please note that in the case of the Windows client you must download and install the Windows FirstClass 9 client then install the Windows FirstClass 10 client.
Post-Install Troubleshooting - "Error - Sorry there is no FirstClass server with that name on the network. Check your connection setup. [1044]"
Sometimes, following installation of the FirstClass client, the FirstClass server name needs to be entered at the FirstClass login window. This only has to be done once. Do the following to add the server name:
1. At the FirstClass login box click the Advanced button.
2. Click the Setup button.
3. In the Server: line type in fc.rbwm.org
4. Click Save
5. Click the Advanced button to return the FirstClass login box to its original size.
FirstClass should now login correctly.

FirstClass Web Version
Current Issue with the web version of FirstClass - There is currently an issue with the web version of FirstClass. We therefore recommend that all users download and install the latest version of the FirstClass client (see "FirstClass Client Downloads" section above).
