Is this the course for me?
If you have a very visual, creative imagination and good organisational skills with a desire to create your own Media texts, then this is the course for you. You will be working independently and as part of a team, completing real research and investigations. You will be developing your own productions, meeting strict deadlines. You will develop skills such as camera operation, interview and presentation techniques as well as learning the theory and practice of digital editing.
The course is highly interactive with you taking considerable responsibility for your own learning. You will need to be self-motivated and organised. There are no exams, so if you prefer coursework – this is the course for you! This does, however, mean that you will need to spend a significant amount of time completing work to a high standard.
What else do I need to know?
There are opportunities for you to showcase your practical work at a local Arts Centre, be involved in the KS3 Media Club and the Charters Film Crew.
Where could it lead?
As this is practical-based course you would develop skills useful for a wide range of further Media-related educational and vocational courses. It is specifically designed to allow students to develop skills of a practical nature which would be beneficial for those wishing to pursue a career in the media industry.
