Coats: pupils should wear a dark, plain coat, jacket, anorak, or rain jacket. Brightly coloured coats, denim jackets and jackets with slogans are not allowed, nor are football scarves. Fluorescent safety bands are acceptable in winter. Hooded sweatshirts are not acceptable as outdoor coats.

Outdoor clothing e.g. jackets, may not be worn in any class or in the dining hall.

Hairstyles: in general, extremes of fashion in hairstyle are felt to be inappropriate to school life and are not permitted. Therefore, no pupil should have a ‘stepped or undercut' haircut resulting from the back of their head being shaved using the 1, 2 or 3 graded clippers or equivalent. Neither is a shaved head with an exaggerated fringe acceptable. Neither is the other extreme of excessively long hair, below the collar, allowed; nor is hair dyed in an excessive and unnatural colour. Dyed stripes in the hair and hair extensions of a different colour are not allowed.

Make-up is not allowed in Years 7 - 9. Girls in Years 10 and 11 may wear light make-up. No nail varnish should be worn in any year group.

They are required to set an example to others.
