Girls’ Choir for students in Years 10 - 13 who are of grade 4 standard or above and sings both accompanied and A Cappella music in as many as four parts. They sing in all major concerts as well as concerts and competitions within the local community (winners of the Maidenhead Music Festival). Meets Wednesday second break.
Junior Vocal Group
Mixed singing group for all students in Year 7, singing arrangements of pop songs and songs from the theatre, Disney films, etc. They sing at the two end of term concerts in December and March, the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, and various other events such as end of term assemblies. Meets Friday Second Break.
Voyces is the Year 8 and 9 vocal group which aims to build on everything learnt in Junior Vocal Group. They sing arrangements of pop songs and musicals, often in two or more parts. Meets Monday second break.
Open to all students in Years 10 - 13 who have a passion for singing. The choir sings in four-part harmony (Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass) and sings both unaccompanied and accompanied music. They perform at the end of term concerts in December and March, the festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, and other local community events such as The Sunninghill Victorian Fayre and the switching on of the Sunningdale Christmas Lights. Meets Thursday 3.15pm - 4.30pm
Senior Vocal Group
The biggest school choir with over 100 members taken from years 9 - 13. The group perform in both end of term concerts, performing arrangements of pop songs and songs from musicals, usually singing to a backing track. Meets Friday Second Break.
The orchestra is open to students of grade 3 standard or above on any orchestral instrument. They perform a variety of music from Film, TV and Classical repertoire in the Winter and Spring end of term concerts. The orchestra has also been the driving force behind the success of the Senior String Ensemble, who also perform in the end of term concerts. Meets Wednesday 3.00pm - 4.15pm
Junior String Ensemble
The ensemble is made up of pupils from year 7 and 8 playing violin and cello from pre grade 1 to grade 5 standard. They rehearse and perform a variety of music from Film, classical and popular repertoire. The ensemble are a regular feature at concerts and assemblies throughout the year. Many of the members progress into the main school orchestra or play in both. Meets Tuesday Second break.
This ensemble is aimed at string players in the upper years who are grade 3 standard or above. The ensemble plays a variety of music, including standard classical repertoire. Meets Tuesday 3.00pm - 4.45pm.
This ensemble is for beginner woodwind and brass players. They play simple but effective repertoire, some pop arrangements and jazz numbers. Open to anyone who plays. Meets Monday 3.00 - 4.15pm.
The senior group is for players of grade 3 standard or above. They play more challenging, but fun, repertoire. The group often helps to supplement the Junior Ensemble. Meets Tuesday 3.00pm - 4.15pm.
